What are the dimensions of a California King mattress?
A California King measures 72 inches wide by 84 inches long — narrower but longer than a standard King, making it ideal for taller sleepers who need extra legroom.
What's the difference between a California King and a standard King?
A standard King is 76" wide × 80" long, while a Cal King is 72" wide × 84" long. Cal King trades a bit of width for 4 extra inches of length, making it better suited for taller individuals or those who simply want a longer bed.
Is a Cal King mattress good for couples?
Absolutely. With 72 inches of width, a Cal King offers substantial shared sleeping space, and the extra length is a bonus for taller partners who need more room to stretch out.
Can I use a Cal King mattress on a regular King bed frame?
No — because Cal King and standard King have different dimensions, you'll need a bed frame specifically designed for California King sizing.
What's the delivery and setup process like for a Cal King mattress?
Most Cal King mattresses ship compressed and rolled in a box for easier delivery. Once unboxed, they typically expand to full size within 24–72 hours. [Adjust this based on your actual shipping/setup process.
Will a Cal King mattress fit my bedroom?
Cal King mattresses fit best in rooms that are at least 11' x 13', allowing enough clearance around the bed for furniture and walking space. Measure your room and doorways before purchasing, since the extra length can make maneuvering the mattress into place trickier.
Do I need special sheets for a Cal King mattress?
Yes — Cal King bedding is sized differently from standard King bedding due to the different dimensions. Be sure to shop for sheets, comforters, and mattress protectors labeled specifically "California King" or "Cal King."
